October Q&A and Meeting

The October Q&A Session is Thursday October 19th from 6:30-8:30pm at Olympic Brewing Supply in east Bremerton. Jon will be discussing the latest homebrew gadgets and ingredients. Bring your own snacks/dinner.
The October Meeting is Friday October 27th from 4-9pm and is hosted by Curt and Diane at their place in east Bremerton. The theme will be fall/harvest/fresh hop brews. Bring your homebrew, commercial brew and a potluck dish to share.

Jack will be hosting the all day Learn to Homebrew event on Saturday November 4th in the Brownsville area. We will most likely have another Seattle brew crawl later in November. The November Q&A Session is with Terry on Thursday November 16th and will be at Sound Brewery. The December Meeting is Saturday December 9th from 2-6pm and is hosted by Bruce and Dee in the Hansville area and we will be choosing new club officers for next year.

September Meeting

The WSB September Meeting is Saturday September 23rd from 2-8pm and is hosted by Lou and Brenda on the back deck of their place near the Fairgrounds. The theme is Oktoberfest. Please bring your homebrews, commercial brews and a potluck dish to share. Don't forget your taster glass. This is also your last chance to order your WSB 25th Anniversary shirts through Lou. The October Meeting is scheduled for Friday October 27th and is hosted by Curt and Diane and the theme will be Fall/Harvest/Pumpkin brews. Saturday November 4th Jack will be teaching Learn to Homebrew - an annual AHA event.

August "Garden of Eatin'" Meeting

The annual Garden of Eatin' meeting is Saturday August 26th from 1-9pm and is hosted by Oggie and Wendy in their front garden in the Erland's Point area. The theme is Refreshing Summer Beverages. Oggie will have brisket and a grill will be available. Bring your potluck dish, homebrews or commercial brews, a taster glass, bottled water and maybe a small deck chair. The September Meeting is Saturday September 23rd and will be hosted by Lou and the theme is Oktoberfest. This is also your last chance to order WSB tshirts or work shirts through Lou. The October Meeting is Friday October 27th and is hosted by Curt and Diane. There will be a "Learn to Homebrew" day on Saturday November 5th and will be hosted by Jack. December will be our club officer election. January is the annual Barleywine Meeting. February is the annual Strangebrewary Meeting. March is Wood Fest and April is Cask Fest.

July Meeting at Ryan's

The July WSB Meeting will be on Saturday July 8th from 3-8pm and is hosted by Ryan on the back decks overlooking the gardens at his place in Poulsbo. The theme is summer brews - homebrew or commercial. Ryan will be cooking up Alaskan salmon and maybe homemade sausages. Ryan is known for his fruit, sour and wild ales. Please bring brews, a potluck dish and don't forget your taster glass. You may also want to bring a small patio chair. More info is in the last Newsletter.

The annual Garden of Eatin' meeting is Saturday August 26th and is hosted by Wendy and Oggie at their place on Erland's Point. Brew theme is cider, wines, mead and fruit beers.

Lou will host the September Meeting on Saturday September 23rd. There will be a Q&A Session on Thursday October 19th at Olympic Brewing Supply with John. Diane and Curt host the October Meeting. On Saturday October 4th Jack will have a "Learn to Homebrew" session.

Wood Fest Results

Here are the top finishers from our second annual Wood Fest held in March:
First Place went to Ryan for his imperial Russian stout with cherries aged in a Woodinville whisky barrel
Second Place went to Mike and Jonathan for their imperial porter aged in a wheat whiskey barrel
Third Place went to Dan M. for his Bittersweet End
Tied for Honorable Mention are Lou for his Texas Tea bourbon barrel stout and Dan R. for his apple cider aged on cherry wood chips

Brews on the Beach June 25th Noon-8pm

The June Meeting is Brews on the Beach on Sunday June 25th from Noon-8pm and is hosted by Jim and Nancy. This year it will be a seafood boil. The brew theme is IPAs and Belgian styles. This is also a good time to bring the BIG BREW! beers that were made last month. Jim and Nancy have reserved the large gazebo and there is also a firepit (bring firewood if you have it). We also need propane stoves, propane and large pots for boiling the seafood, corn, potatoes, etc. and also a charcoal or propane grill for the meatlovers. Bring your homebrews, commercial brews and food items to share. Don't forget your taster glass, bottled water and a chair. Dress in layers. Hope for good weather! The July Meeting is Saturday July 8th and is hosted by Ryan at his place in Poulsbo on his back deck. Bring your homebrews, commercial brews and a potluck dish to share (Ryan will be grilling some salmon). Don't forget your taster glass, bottled water and a small deck chair. Ryan has a wonderful garden with many fruit plants. He makes fruit beers and lambic styles and sometimes uses the wild yeasts from his garden. More info is in the Newsletter emailed 6/1.

BEERSTOCK is Saturday July 22nd in Orting and this year's theme is The Search for the Holy Ale. We will have two booths with lots of seating area behind. Start planning your homebrewed beers, ciders, meads, wines and Kombuchas that can be served from jockey boxes or by the bottle. Camping will be available. Oggie will be our WSB representative.

August 26th Meeting will be hosted by Oggie and Wendy. September 23rd Meeting will be hosted by Lou. October 19th is a Q&A Session with John at Olympic Brewing Supply. Curt and Diane will host the October Meeting and Jack will host the Learn to Homebrew on November 4th.

January is our annual Barleywine Meeting. February is our annual Strangebrewary Meeting. March is our annual Wood Fest and April is our annual Cask Fest.

Big Brew! with a View!

Big Brew! with a View is Saturday May 6th starting at 9:30am at Slaughter County Brew Co 1307 Bay Street in Port Orchard. The Toast to Homebrewing is at 10am. Bring your brewing equipment and set up on the waterside patio. We will also have a homebrew exchange (Bring a Bottle-Take a Bottle) (or Growler). Make your the bottles are labeled with your name and the name of the homebrew. More info is in the Newsletter emailed out 5/5.
